KULE x BANDIER Capsule Collection | behind the scenesOct 18, 2017

When Jennifer Bandier and I first met in third grade, we became fast friends. Both creative from a young age, we bonded over our big ideas and even bigger imaginations. Fast forward 30+ years and we are both entrepreneurs in the crazy world of fashion. Sharing a fun-loving, light hearted approach,  Jenn and I each developed brands that take a new and creative approach to an age-old category. We’re best friends.

Jennifer founded BANDIER, and for those of you who don’t know (where have you been???), BANDIER is the first multi-brand destination celebrating the intersection of fashion, fitness, and music. Jennifer has created a radically new approach to shopping for fitness wear that leverages her unmistakable eye for trends and razor sharp sense of style. Curating over 50 new and established brands from around the world in its five U.S. boutiques and global e-commerce store, Bandier has quickly established itself as the go-to shop for fashion-forward activewear.

Together,  we released a twelve-piece collection that combines the best of both brands — stylish, performance-ready, but playful. This collection reflects how I feel about working out — always having fun, and not taking it too seriously. While I love running and playing tennis (and the occasional Soul Cycle), I was more inspired by old school, throwback athletic styles (and Richie Tenenbaum).

The collection features our signature stripes (of course), colorful tracksuits (my new fave), and playful trompe l’oeil leggings. It was produced by BANDIER to ensure the best performing fabric and an optimized fit. I’ve always wanted to collaborate with Jennifer, and this was the perfect opportunity. It was a challenge, as I’ve never designed activewear, but I love what BANDIER does, and I know we have created something really special together.
