Stripes on Stripes | behind the scenesJun 12, 2017

O’ Hey,  Annabel here!

Libby and I have arrived in New York City with fresh eyes for what this concrete jungle has to offer. As we stroll the streets of Manhattan, we sport Kule all over — wearing three different Kule shirts at once. Nikki Kule is a fashion design genius when it comes to stripes. Stripes are a classic aesthetic. When you look close enough, they are everywhere. Stripes divide concrete roads, paint subway tracks, and, of course, ride on our shirt fabric. They are built into our everyday.

This first week in NYC has brought many surprises. During our first day on the internship, we spotted A$AP Rocky while heading to the Subway. He was filming a music video for his song “Magnolia.” I’m pretty positive he winked at Libby after she yelled out to him “You’re hot!” A$AP would totally rock a Kule tee. If only one of us had a shirt under our arm that we could have tossed to him while he danced on a construction site.

After just one week, I am already falling in love with this city. New York is full of people — actors, musicians, designers, entrepreneurs, dog-lovers, hippies, martial artists, food lovers. The list is endless. And that’s what makes this city so beautiful — the diversity of who you walk by on the sidewalk and sit next to on the Subway. There is so much to feel excited about. No matter where I go or who I meet or what I do during these next few weeks, I know one thing for sure: I’ll be wearing stripes to lead me in the right direction.

Heading uptown with a delivery

Kule Beginnings | behind the scenesJun 09, 2017

Hey there Kule lovers!

Our names are Annabel and Libby and we are taking over Kule’s blog for the month, as well as interning in the Kule office and exploring the streets of New York City. Our twinternship will be full of striped tees, deliveries, and sweet memories. We’re so excited to get started and share our experiences with you here on O’ Boy!

As twins, we are naturally similar but also incredibly distinct in personality and style. Annabel, the oldest, is a bit more chic, classy, and elegant with a hip twist on the reg. You can find her wearing ripped jeans paired with heels, gold hoops, and a pink scrunchie that pulls her hair into a high ponytail. Think 60’s Jane Birkin.

Libby, three minutes younger than Annabel, is hip, edgy and regularly gives off California vibes. She loves her high platform Tevas and her ripped-up Vans that she reconstructed with gold tape. Her eyes are dabbed in sparkly pink and gold eye shadow 24/7, and she always has her patched jean jacket and white fur vest nearby.

Incidences, coincidences, encounters, serendipities, surprises, accidents… Just flow with it.

Both of our styles are multi-layered and always changing. But no matter where we are, we embrace messy hair and sun-kissed skin, natural freckles and flaws. Authenticity is what we strive for. We encourage you to flaunt your own personal style, wear whatever you want however you want, and never be afraid to mix, match and add a few stripes.

We hope to see you out and about in the city!

One is never enough | behind the scenesJan 09, 2016

Kule stripe tees come in 4 different fits and 2 fabric weights. The reason is that each style expresses a completely a different attitude and purpose. For example, The Modern and The Modern Long are great worn alone for warmer days or as layering pieces in the fall and winter months. The Classic, a medium weight cotton,  is slightly tailored for a more finished and cleaner look. The Boyfriend,  a medium weight cotton,  is a more casual and relaxed fit and great for weekends or traveling. I love them all and could never choose just one. One Kule stripe tee is never enough!
